Swazihjelpen er en privat forening i Grimstad
Hovedmålet med foreningen er å bistå barn og unge i Swaziland. Vi ønsker å bidra til en trygg oppvekst med skole og utdanning slik at de blir i stand til å klare seg selv i framtiden.
Swaziland er et av verdens fattigste land med en svært høy prosent av HIV/AIDS. Dette innebærer at mange barn er blitt foreldreløse.
Da vi besøkte Swaziland sommeren 2005 møtte vi noen av disse barna og ungdommene. Dette møtet gjorde et sterkt inntrykk. Lysten til å yte utvidet hjelp ble vekket, og foreningen Swazihjelpen ble ”født”.
Hovedprosjektet er å oppføre et lite skolebygg til de yngste barna. Vi har kontakt med en førskolelærer i Nyageni på landsbygda utenfor storbyen Manzini. Hun heter Rachel Nkwanyana og hun driver i dag en liten fattigslig førskole i huset hvor hun selv bor. I tillegg disponerer hun en tomt som må bygges ut, ellers vil den gå tilbake til høvdingen.
Vi vil føre opp et bygg med 3 klasserom samt kjøkken, spiserom og et lærerværelse.
I tillegg til byggeprosjektet har vi sponsorer som gir bidrag til underhold og skolegang til ”fadderbarn”.

Følgende 4 personer var i mars 2006 i Swaziland for å bygge grunnmur og såle;
Sverre Halvorsen, Tom Stabell, Arne Stabell og Andrew Berge. I løpet av 10 dager fikk denne fine kameratgjengen, takket være god innsats fra lokale hjelpere, ferdiggjort grunnmur og såle.

Swazihjelpen (the swazi help) is a private foudation with HQ in Grimstad, Norway.
Our main goal is to conribute in giving children and youth in Swaziland a safe childhood, and education.
Swaziland is one of the counties in the world with the highest percentage of HIV/AIDS. This has made many kids orphans.
When we visited Swaziland summer 2005, we met some of these children. A meeting wich touched us deep inside. A disire to help awoke, and Swazihjelpen was "born".
Our main project is to build a schoolhouse for the youngest children. We have a pre-schoolteacher in Nyageni, a village outside Manzini. Her name is Rachel Nkwanyana, she is already running a small pre-school in her own home. In adition to her own home she has the disposal of the property next to hers. Local law made her build on it now or else she would have to give it back to the chieftain.
We will raise a small schoolbuilding with three classrooms, a kitchen, diningroom and teatchersloung.
In adition to the building of the schoolhouse we have sponsers contributing to the childrens wellfare.
